A poster depicting that famous shower scene from Alfred Hitchock’s ‘Psycho’, pasted on the side of the now derelict Odeon cinema / Gala bingo hall on Hobson St. This building is so sad. Perfectly placed and so much potential, I have never understood why it’s been empty for so long.
I once read an article by a photographer who specialises in urban exploration and managed to get into the building, meet and talk with the squatters who lived there. You can read more about that story and check out his photos here, as well as read about his more recent ventures.
A lovely looking building with so much character, I’ll have to go back and catch a few more angles. I’m not sure I’m brave enough to go inside though.
